Mission

The mission of the Active Living Network is to promote activity-friendly community design by building a national coalition of professional leaders who have a stake in the health impacts of how places are designed and built.

The mission of the Active Living Network includes:

  • Building demand for change by raising awareness about the impact of built environments on physical activity and health
  • Promoting collaboration among professionals and organizations committed to creating active, healthy communities
  • Translating critical information and research across sectors to make it accessible to a wide range of audiences

In addition to our Partners, the Active Living Network includes Active Living Programs throughout the country. Each Active Living Program, supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, promotes healthy communities and active lifestyles.
